Stumped? (FAQs)

Does it matter what species of wood I choose?

Yes. Hardness, strength, finish and personal preference all come into play when deciding what species of wood to use. Together, we can decide which one is best for you and your project.

Where do you source wood for your projects?

We go wherever needed to get the best wood for your project. We can often find exactly what you need here in Las Vegas, but we also have traveled to Utah, Oregon and Illinois to make sure we get the best pieces.

I have a dent or scratches in my solid wood table. Is that something you can help with?

One of the benefits of solid wood furniture is it can oftentimes be repaired whereas that is not the case with veneer products. Reach out to us with your question, and we’ll be happy to help!

What’s the deal with all the Nevada items?

Ken has lived in the Las Vegas Valley for more than 20 years, and Eric nearly 15 years. They and their families are proud Nevadans – and Vegas Golden Knights fans! – and it shows through their designs. Ken’s in-laws are native Southern Nevadans, going back more than 75 years, so building a legacy definitely has Nevada roots. Where can I buy some of the smaller items I see on your site?

We got our start on Etsy and continue to use our shop there to sell our smaller, shippable items. Please visit: https://www.etsy.com/shop/LegacyWoodworkingLV

Do you ship?

Keep this in mind – anything made from hardwood, once shipped to another climate, can change. Humid climates can cause wood to expand where dry climates cause it to contract. Please discuss with us your project idea, and we can explore the shipping option from there.

I have an idea, but I don’t see it on your site. Do you do custom work?

We love custom work. It’s our specialty. There is nothing like true collaboration! Through discussion, we will put together a custom 3D design and select the right materials, so you can see your project in real life and make changes before the build begins.
